Parachute Dynamics Investigations Using a Sensor Package Airdropped from a Small-scale Airplane
We explore the utility of various sensors by recovering parachute-probe dynamics information from a package released from a small-scale, remotecontrolled airplane. The airdrops aid in the development of datasets for the exploration of planetary probe trajectory recovery algorithms, supplementing data collected from instrumented, full-scale tests and computer models.
متن کاملFuzzy Logic Control of a Model Airplane
Common uses of fuzzy logic control today are found in relatively simple applications in products. These applications only scratch the surface of the potential of fuzzy logic control in complex mechatronic systems. In order to demonstrate the utility of fuzzy logic in complex device control, a fuzzy logic fly-by-wire system has been developed for a model airplane. The model airplane is a complex...
متن کاملVision-Based Navigation for a Small Fixed-Wing Airplane in Urban Environment
An urban operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) demands a high level of autonomy for tasks presented in a cluttered environment. While fixed-wing UAVs are well suited for long-endurance missions at a high altitude, enabling them to navigate inside an urban area brings another level of challenges. Their inability to hover and low agility in motion cause more difficulties on finding a feasi...
متن کاملSmall world phenomena and performances of wireless ad hoc networks
The groups of people that use an ad hoc network form a social network that exhibits small world properties. In this paper the impact of small world phenomena in application layer network on performance of ad hoc network is investigated. We show that small world properties have a big influence on the performance taking into consideration different routing protocols and network area shapes. In or...
متن کاملAirplane Speed Control: A Fuzzy Logic Approach
Air traffic management is a complex system that includes aircrafts, crew, air traffic controllers, automation, traffic rules and climatic conditions that can affect in decision making during the different flight phases (Callantine, 2004). The human factor is the most relevant aspect in this management process, involving controllers working under severe stress and an increasing flow of aircrafts...
